Especially during the difficult times in life, it’s wonderful to feel the power of love and connection. From quarantine and iso gifts, friends and family sending gifts from the Eastern States, and also much further afield such as the UK, Canada, America, Singapore, Israel, United Arab Emirates, my fruit hampers are the sweet touch in good and bad times.

I personally create every hamper, taking pride in the little touches that make a big difference.

And that’s what creates the “Wow” factor.

How it all began

The Gift Store Fruit Hampers started as a little acorn of an idea when I wanted a special gift to show my appreciation to the wonderful staff at my daughter’s school, who had supported her so well after she was diagnosed with Type1 diabetes the previous year. 

I wanted something they could share and enjoy, but as it was Christmas I knew they would be inundated with the usual chocolates and biscuits. I was also mindful that you never know what dietary requirements people have, with my own children I have a diabetic and celiac, vegetarian and gluten intolerant, and a vegan - yes our dinner times are a bit challenging but I can't go far wrong with fruit and veg!

My Eureka moment!

So a little Eureka moment happened - the perfect gift would be a fruit hamper, it suited all my needs, beautiful like flowers but edible, healthy, delicious and something different and thoughtful, that all the school staff could share and enjoy enjoy.

I looked online for fruit hampers that were available in Perth but I couldn't find the kind of artistic fruit arrangement I had in mind, so that’s when I put together my own first fruit hamper.

A gift that fits the joy spirit of gifting

Shortly afterwards a friend had a new baby, another moved home and again a fruit hamper perfectly fitted the joy and spirit of my gifting requirements:

Soon, friends started asking me to make hampers for them, and I started posting some pictures on Instagram. Before long, I had regular orders coming in and hence my business was born.
